Anything hanging can be called a pendant
Many refer to our Classic Sterling Silver Dog Charm as a pendant. To me it’s a charm. A pendant in my vocabulary is larger than a charm size hanging object. I make these by soldering 2 different pieces together, thereby making a larger object. I like to solder a small charm to a sterling silver Oval Winners Circle Pendant or Black Legend chunky sterling silver Oval with oxidized center. I’ve applied small sterling silver dog charms onto a flat background, creating a bas relief effect. This makes a very powerful presentation, especially when we use the back background with a 3d dog. It can be a little much for some people that don’t like to scream DOG.
Our real focus has been on the charms and what unusual ways to use them. That brings me to our Charm Holders: our Sterling Charm Holders have an invisible closure that allows for the addition of charms that can all hang together from this elegant yet simple oval pendant. We want you to select the charms that tell Your story. Years ago we had fun one afternoon putting 3 charms together and naming them. We had Momma Can Cook with sterling silver charms of a whisk, a frying pan and a colander. Crazy Cat lady featured a stretching cat, Wine Bottle, and a mouse with a hidden heart. Safari included our Indiana Jones Hat, a Lion and a Nikon Camera. I could go on, but you get the point. The possibilities are endless.
There are several ways to hang a pendant. When you use the Charm Holder, the charms line up side by side. Depending on what charm holder size you select will determine how many charms it will hold. The larger the Charm Holder, the more charms can be added. We also handmade really chunky rings without an opening that we use to hang multiple charms from, but those need to be attached with larger rings and tools. All our charm holders are made in sterling silver as well as our Bangles that feature an invisible closures – no tools necessary.
